ED treatment in the Philippines for expats and visitors
ED medicine prices in the Philippines, in dollars, pounds and euros
Viagra, Cialis and generic sildenafil and tadalafil prices in the Philippines, shown in US dollars, pounds, Australian dollars and euros. Sourced and dated.
Short answer
ED medicines are inexpensive in the Philippines by Western standards, especially the local generics. The cheapest checked sildenafil 50 mg tablet is US$0.82 (Erecto, TGP), against US$15.25 (Viagra, Watsons) for branded Viagra. Every price below is converted from pesos at a fixed reference rate and shows in US dollars by default; use the currency selector for pounds, Australian dollars or euros.
How much do ED medicines cost in the Philippines?
It depends almost entirely on the brand. At the same strength, the dearest sildenafil 50 mg tablet we checked costs about 19 times the cheapest, and the dearest tadalafil 20 mg tablet about 3 times the cheapest.
Here are the headline ranges, per tablet, at the most commonly prescribed strengths:
| Medicine and strength | Cheapest checked | Dearest checked |
|---|---|---|
| Sildenafil 50 mg | US$0.82 (Erecto, TGP) | US$15.25 (Viagra, Watsons) |
| Sildenafil 100 mg | US$0.85 (Spiagra, TGP) | US$19.47 (Viagra, Watsons) |
| Tadalafil 20 mg | US$6.58 (Torfil, Watsons) | US$17.56 (Cialis, Southstar Drug) |
Daily tadalafil is prescribed at lower strengths. Branded Cialis 5 mg at Watsons was US$4.62 a tablet, and the generic Torfil 2.5 mg was US$1.58. Which strength and how often is your doctor's decision. See daily tadalafil.

Rows we could not verify, such as some MedsGo listings, Tadah Forte and Thafil, do not appear. We publish a price only after checking it on the pharmacy's or maker's own page. Our sources and methodology page explains how.
How are the dollar, pound and euro prices worked out?
Pharmacies in the Philippines price everything in pesos. We record the peso price, then convert it for display using a fixed reference rate:
| Currency | Fixed reference rate |
|---|---|
| US dollar (USD) | 60 to the dollar |
| British pound (GBP) | 78 to the pound |
| Australian dollar (AUD) | 39 to the Australian dollar |
| Euro (EUR) | 66 to the euro |
These are reference rates, not live rates. We chose fixed rates so that prices do not change from one day to the next and so that you can compare pages. When you pay with a foreign card, your bank applies its own exchange rate and may add a foreign transaction fee, so the amount on your statement will differ a little.
Pages in this expat section open in US dollars. If you choose another currency, the site remembers your choice. The peso price is always the one the pharmacy charges.
Why is branded Viagra so much dearer than generic sildenafil?
They contain the same active ingredient. The difference is the maker and the brand.
Viagra and Cialis are the original brands, first developed by Pfizer and by Lilly. Generic versions registered with FDA Philippines contain the same medicine at the same strength. Local generics include:
- Sildenafil: Erecto and Spiagra (both at TGP), Zilden, Tigerfil, RiteMed Sildenafil and Andros. See Erecto, Zilden and RiteMed Sildenafil.
- Tadalafil: Torfil is the main generic with verified prices. See Torfil.
The generic route is often the larger saving for expats than the exchange rate itself. Ask your doctor to write the generic name on your prescription, so the pharmacist can offer you any registered brand. For brand-by-brand comparisons, see the Viagra price guide and the Cialis price guide.
How does this compare with prices at home?
Home prices vary too much by insurer, pharmacy and plan to compare fairly, so we only give figures we can source.
- England. The NHS prescription charge is £9.90 per item, according to the NHS. Generic sildenafil can be prescribed on the NHS for ED; the NHS says branded Viagra is generally not available on the NHS except in special circumstances. Prescriptions are free in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. A private prescription means paying the full cost of the medicine.
- United States and Australia. Costs depend on your insurance, your pharmacy and your plan, so we do not give a single figure. Generic sildenafil and tadalafil are widely available in both countries.
What matters most for a long stay is usually this: generic prices in the Philippines are low, and an online consultation with a PRC-licensed doctor gives you a prescription that local pharmacies accept. See prescriptions for foreigners.
Where are these prices from?
From the pharmacies' and makers' own websites, checked on the date shown in each row. The pharmacies are:
- Watsons, which accounts for most rows in our table, with branches in most malls nationwide.
- TGP (The Generics Pharmacy), focused on low-cost generics.
- Southstar Drug, a chain with many branches in Luzon.
- Rose Pharmacy, strong in Cebu and the Visayas.
- RiteMed, the maker's suggested retail price.
- NowExpress, an online service whose price includes a doctor review; its figures are approximate.
Mercury Drug, the largest chain in the country, does not publish online prices for these medicines that we could verify, so it does not appear in the table. Prices change, and branch prices can differ from online prices.
How much would a month cost?
Monthly cost depends on how often your doctor prescribes the medicine, which differs from person to person. Our cost-per-dose calculator lets you choose a medicine, strength and pharmacy, enter the number of uses a month and see the result in your currency. It also shows the cheapest equivalent generic.
As one illustration, at four uses a month, Erecto 50 mg at TGP would come to US$NaN, and branded Viagra 50 mg at Watsons to US$NaN. This is a cost comparison, not a recommendation of how often to use either.
Why might I pay a different price at the counter?
The table records the price on a pharmacy's website on the date shown. What you pay in a branch can differ for several reasons.
- Branch pricing. Some chains price differently in malls, hospitals and provincial branches, and online prices are not always the same as shelf prices.
- Stock. A brand may be out of stock at your branch. Two rows in the table were already out of stock when we checked. A pharmacist can usually offer another registered brand with the same generic name if your prescription allows it.
- Pack size. Some products are sold per tablet and others only in packs. The table shows the per-tablet price for packs so that you can compare like with like.
- Senior citizen pricing. Filipino senior citizens receive a statutory reduction on medicines. It applies to Filipino citizens, so most foreign residents should not expect it.
- Card fees. If you pay with a foreign card, your bank may add a foreign transaction fee, and some terminals offer to charge you in your home currency. Choosing to pay in pesos usually gives a better rate than letting the terminal convert.
Is it worth paying more for the original brand?
That is a personal choice. Registered generics contain the same medicine at the same strength, and FDA Philippines registers them on that basis. Some men prefer the original brand because they have used it for years, or because the tablet looks familiar. Others switch to a generic and see no difference. If you switch, tell your doctor, and check the registration of any brand on the FDA Verification Portal.
Do online services cost more?
Sometimes, but the price usually includes the consultation and delivery. Rocky lists ED care from from US$2.00 per use, with a free consult. Doctor Anywhere charges US$9.17 for a GP video consult. For delivery coverage and consult types, see the online consultation guide.
For an expat without a local prescription, an online service that includes the doctor's review can be the simplest route, even if the tablet price is higher than the cheapest pharmacy.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How much is Viagra in the Philippines in US dollars?
Branded Viagra is the most expensive sildenafil in the Philippines. Generic sildenafil from local makers costs a small fraction of it at the same strength. The table on this page shows each checked price in US dollars, converted at a fixed reference rate of 60 to the dollar.
Are the exchange rates live?
No. We use fixed reference rates so that prices do not shift every day: 60 to the US dollar, 78 to the pound, 39 to the Australian dollar and 66 to the euro. Your bank or card will use its own rate, so the amount you pay will differ slightly.
Do I need a prescription to get these prices?
Yes. All of these medicines are prescription only in the Philippines. The prices are what pharmacies listed; you will be asked for a prescription at the counter.
