ED treatment in the Philippines for expats and visitors
ED care in Cebu for expats
ED care for foreign residents in Cebu: hospital urology, online consultations with nationwide delivery, Rose Pharmacy and other chains, prices in dollars.
Short answer
Cebu has a large community of foreign residents and good private hospitals, and English-speaking care for ED is available both in person and online. Chong Hua Hospital lists urologists in its Department of Surgery, several online services deliver to Cebu, and Rose Pharmacy, Mercury Drug and Watsons have branches across Metro Cebu. Sildenafil (Viagra) and tadalafil (Cialis) need a prescription from a PRC-licensed doctor.
Where can I get ED care in Cebu?
Metro Cebu, which takes in Cebu City, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu and Mactan, is the main medical centre of the Visayas. You have three routes: a hospital urologist, a general practitioner or internist, or an online consultation with delivery. All of them work in English.
We list men's health clinics only once we have verified them from their own published pages. Our Cebu directory is still being completed:

Can I see a urologist in Cebu?
Yes. For a full assessment, a urologist at one of Cebu City's tertiary private hospitals is the thorough option, particularly if ED came on suddenly, if tablets have not helped, or if you have prostate symptoms or have had prostate treatment.
- Chong Hua Hospital. Its clinical departments page for Cebu describes a Department of Surgery that includes surgeons of other specialties, naming urology. The hospital has sites in Fuente, Cebu City and in Mandaue. Call and ask for a urology consultation.
- Other private hospitals in Cebu City. Cebu has several other large private hospitals with surgical departments. We are verifying which of them run urology clinics, from their own pages, and will add them when we have.
A urologist will usually take a history, examine you, check your blood pressure and may arrange blood tests such as blood sugar, cholesterol and sometimes testosterone. ED is often an early sign of heart or blood vessel disease, so the check is worth doing for its own sake. See causes of ED.
Hospital consultation fees are not published on the pages we checked. Ask when you book, and ask whether your international insurance is accepted.
Is a GP or internist enough?
For most men, yes. ED is usually assessed and treated by a general practitioner or internist, and you do not need a specialist to get a prescription for sildenafil or tadalafil. Many Cebu residents already have an internist managing their blood pressure, diabetes or cholesterol; that doctor can usually handle ED too, and already knows your other medicines.
A urologist is the better choice for complex cases, or if your GP suggests a referral.
Can I get ED medicine delivered to Cebu?
Yes. Online consultation services run by PRC-licensed doctors issue e-prescriptions anywhere in the country, and several deliver nationwide. Their claims, as published on their own sites:
| Provider | Delivery, as published |
|---|---|
| Rocky (GoRocky) | Same-day in Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna and Cavite; free nationwide |
| NowExpress | Nationwide, free in Metro Manila |
| &you | Free discreet shipping (coverage not stated) |
| Doctor Anywhere | Same-day for requests before 1 pm (coverage not stated) |
| andSons | Not published |
Cebu is outside the same-day zones these providers name. None publishes a delivery time for Cebu, so ask before you start if timing matters. Even without delivery, an e-prescription can be filled at any Cebu pharmacy.
Most of these services do not say whether they serve foreign nationals. Pulse Clinic, which does say so, has clinics in Makati and Angeles but not in Cebu. Before paying any service, ask whether it accepts a foreign passport and a foreign-issued card. See the online ED consultation guide for fees and consult types.
Which pharmacies are in Cebu?
Cebu is well served by pharmacies, in malls, along the main roads and next to the hospitals.
- Rose Pharmacy started in Cebu and has a large network of branches across Cebu and the Visayas. It is one of the pharmacies whose prices we check; RiteMed Sildenafil 100 mg at Rose Pharmacy was listed at US$4.17 a tablet.
- Mercury Drug, the largest chain in the country, has many branches in Metro Cebu.
- Watsons has branches in the large malls.
- Southstar Drug and TGP (The Generics Pharmacy) also operate in Cebu. TGP focuses on low-cost generics.
- Hospital pharmacies dispense against prescriptions from their own doctors and from outside doctors.
All of them ask for a prescription. Whether a pharmacist accepts a prescription from your home country is up to them; a Philippine prescription is accepted everywhere. See prescriptions for foreigners in the Philippines.
Larger mall branches generally take international Visa and Mastercard cards. You do not need GCash or Maya to pay at a pharmacy.
How much will it cost?
Prices on this page show in US dollars by default; use the currency selector for pounds, Australian dollars or euros.
| Medicine and strength | Cheapest checked | Dearest checked |
|---|---|---|
| Sildenafil 50 mg | US$0.82 (Erecto, TGP) | US$15.25 (Viagra, Watsons) |
| Sildenafil 100 mg | US$0.85 (Spiagra, TGP) | US$19.47 (Viagra, Watsons) |
| Tadalafil 20 mg | US$6.58 (Torfil, Watsons) | US$17.56 (Cialis, Southstar Drug) |
These prices are from the pharmacies' national websites; Cebu branch prices may differ a little, and not every brand is stocked at every branch. The full table is on ED medicine prices in dollars, pounds and euros. For the brands, see RiteMed Sildenafil and Torfil.
What should I tell the doctor?
Bring a list of your medicines by generic name, your heart history and any previous ED prescription from home.
- Nitrates. Sildenafil and tadalafil must never be combined with nitrates, such as nitroglycerin spray or isosorbide tablets. They are usually avoided after a recent heart attack or stroke.
- Alpha blockers. Medicines for the prostate or blood pressure such as tamsulosin or doxazosin can add to the blood-pressure-lowering effect.
- Diabetes, kidney or liver disease. These affect both why ED happens and which medicine and strength suit you.
The doctor decides whether treatment is suitable, which medicine, which strength and how often. See side effects and safety.
Bringing your own supply
If you fly into Mactan-Cebu International Airport with medicine from home, keep it in the original packaging in your hand luggage, with your prescription and a doctor's letter. A reasonable personal supply (about 30 to 90 days) is the practical standard. Rules can change, so check with the Bureau of Customs and FDA Philippines before you travel. See bringing ED medication into the Philippines.
Staying safe
Avoid ED tablets sold with no prescription by street sellers, market stalls or social media accounts. They are often unregistered or counterfeit, and "herbal" products sometimes contain hidden sildenafil, which is dangerous with nitrates. Check any unfamiliar brand on the FDA Verification Portal, and see how to spot fake ED pills.
For chest pain, an erection lasting over 4 hours, or sudden loss of vision or hearing, go to an emergency department. Cebu City's large private hospitals have emergency rooms. The UK FCDO warns that private hospital treatment is expensive and advises having insurance and accessible funds, and notes that care may not meet UK standards in rural and remote areas, which matters if you live outside Metro Cebu.
Living outside Metro Cebu
Many foreign residents live on Mactan, Bantayan, in the south of the island or on nearby Bohol. Pharmacies in smaller towns may stock fewer brands, and pharmacists there may be less used to foreign prescriptions. An online consultation, with a printed or photographed copy of your e-prescription, is usually the easiest way to keep a regular supply. For residents across the strait in Negros Oriental, see ED care in Dumaguete.
See a licensed doctor
A consultation with a PRC-licensed doctor gives you a Philippine prescription that any pharmacy in Cebu accepts, online or in person, in English.
